I am Daniel Mantell-Roberts. Welcome to my blog!
I would describe my faith as Eucharimonastic, and embodied in Spirit, Table, and Rule. In the spirit, I look for God’s presence and guidance in scripture, tradition, creation, and human experience, reading everything through the lens of Jesus. At the table, in the eucharist, I believe we are fed together as a community, and are sent to share in Christ’s liberating work in the world. By a simple monastic rule of prayer and shared community life, I try to live this out as a hopeful and inclusive participation in the unfolding narrative of God’s kingdom.
I am currently training for ordained ministry at Westcott House, Cambridge, while studying for a PhD that explores religious and political identity in new monastic communities. I have previously studied Theology at the universities of Oxford and St Andrews. Before starting training, I was involved in planting the Another Way Community, a pioneering expression of Truro Cathedral. I live in Cambridge with my wife, Sarah, and our two young daughters.
